BA Design is a new course within the Faculty of Art, Design & Architecture at the Arts University Bournemouth. The University prides itself on a very applied, practice based approach to learning with close collaboration with the wider creative courses in the University.
The new course would recruit its first students in the academic year starting 2018. The role would include the development of curriculum, marketing and recruitment activities and building external industry and academic links in support of the course and Faculty.   The role will include teaching responsibilities across existing design courses during the development and recruitment year. 
We are looking for a highly motivated and inspirational individual to join our expanding programmes.   The post holder will be flexible in their approach to practice and committed to student-centered teaching and learning.
You will be working as part of a dedicated course team who have an open-minded approach to design within Architecture, Interior Architecture and Design and Modelmaking and how it might continue to evolve in the future. The post would offer you the opportunity to develop your teaching practice.  Candidates will need to be enthusiastic, and well-informed to teach across our courses.
The post holder will have experience within the profession and be capable of the demands of teaching at degree level. You will need to be able to devise briefs, deliver inspiring workshops and lectures and be actively involved in the assessment process.  
The BA Design course recognises the opportunity for collaboration and shared learning for its students and the academic team would be encouraged to also contribute to other ocurses where appropriate. 
Product Design or Industrial Design skills and Design Management skills are essential for this post.  All academic staff are involved with research, often linked with industry and proactice, which ensures the reilvance and currency of our curriculum. 
A PhD is essential for this post.  The successful candidate will also hold a post graduate qualification in a relevant subject and either hold, or be willing to undertake within 2 years, a teaching qualification or Higher Education Academy (HEA) Membership.
