Applications are invited from graduates of Arts University Bournemouth, upon successful completion of a minimum level 6 course of study, for an exciting opportunity within our Performance Design subject area on an eleven month fixed-term Technical Internship. 
Working with specialist Technician Demonstrator colleagues, you will provide valuable support to students studying on all areas of our undergraduate Make-up for Media and Performance course, whilst contributing to the oversight of student activities in our specialist fabric dye room may occasionally be required. Under the direct management of the Senior Technician, key duties of this post will include supporting technical and academic staff with workshops and demonstrations provided to students on new and existing equipment, resources, processes and techniques; issuing and receiving equipment and resources to and from stores, including undertaking first line maintenance as appropriate; ensuring processes are followed to maintain health, safety and welfare, under the supervision of the Senior Technician; and providing effective and reactive technical support throughout the working day, including evenings and weekends.
The internship provides the opportunity to enhance your understanding of, and familiarity with, industry standard make-up equipment and techniques; increase your understanding of effective workplace health, safety and welfare; enhance your understanding of make-up processes and the expectations of the working environment; and gain experience in supporting learners in a higher education environment.
The successful candidate will have practical experience of make-up processes, techniques and materials, with a good understanding of health and safety working practices.
